Liuren Daquan: Juan 7 -- Divination Judgments, Part II

Juan 7 covers methods for divining military affairs (占兵事). This was historically the most important application of Da Liuren, used by military commanders to determine: the outcome of planned battles, optimal timing for attack or defense, the enemy's strength and disposition, the loyalty of one's own troops, and strategic terrain analysis. The White Tiger general (military force) and the Hooked Array (military formations) are central to the analysis.

Methods for divining weather and natural phenomena (占天時). The divination predicts: rain, drought, wind, and extreme weather events by analyzing the positions of Water and Fire elements on the divination board, the activity of the Rain Teacher and Wind Ancestor spirit stars, and the seasonal context of the reading.

Methods for divining lost objects and fugitives (占失物). The analysis determines: where a lost object or runaway person can be found, the direction and distance from the querent, the condition of the lost item or person, and whether recovery is possible. The Dark Warrior general and the Thief spirit star are the primary indicators.

Methods for divining domestic matters and household affairs (占家宅). Topics include: assessing the feng shui of a residence, predicting family disputes and their resolution, determining whether to move house, identifying supernatural disturbances, and evaluating the prosperity or decline of a household over time.
