Hexagram Statement
卦辭
注 Wang Bi's Commentary
不大通,何由得大有乎?大有則必元亨矣。
Translation
Without great pervasion, how could one attain Great Possession? With Great Possession there must be Sublime Success.
疏 Kong Yingda's Subcommentary
正義曰:「大有元亨」者,柔處尊位,陽並應,大能所有,故稱大有。既能大有,則其物大得亨通,故云「大有元亨」。
Translation
The Correct Meaning states: As for 'Great Possession, Sublime Success,' the yielding occupies the honored position, and the yang lines all respond to it. '
