Verse on Prosperity and Decline
One must know a lifetime's prosperity and decline. Explanation: Prosperity means wealth and nobility; decline means poverty and lowliness. It is determined by the Five-Element palace positions. Yin-Shen-Si-Hai are the Four Birth positions; Zi-Wu-Mao-You are the Four Decline positions; Chen-Xu-Chou-Wei are the Four Tomb positions. When the Fate Palace sits in a Four Birth position but encounters Decline, Illness, Death, or Extinction: it portends poverty and lowliness.
Flanking Nobility and Flanking Salary — Few Know This
For example, Bing, Ding, Ren, or Gui year births with the Fate Palace in Yin or Xu, flanked by Tiankui and Tianyue, or flanked by Ziwei and Tianfu. Or placing Fate and Body in Yin or Mao, with Lucun residing in Xu or Wei — this is the configuration.
Wuqu-Tanlang Fate: First Poor, Then Rich
First poor, then rich — solely because Wuqu and Tanlang jointly guard the Fate Palace, with auspicious flanking before and behind, and Three Harmony illumination. For example, with the Fate Palace in Chou or Wei, Wuqu guarding the Fate Palace (Metal): the controlling transformation is effective, hence portending poverty first followed by wealth.
Ziwei-Tianfu Sharing a Palace: Lifelong Deep Blessings
When Ziwei and Tianfu share a palace: lifelong deep blessings. With the Fate Palace in Shen, or Jia year births with Fate in Wu palace, encountering Tianfu and Ziwei together, with Zuofu, Youbi, Tiankui, and Tianyue illuminating from the Three Harmonies. The 'Ziwei-Tianfu Facing the Dipper' configuration: lifelong deep blessings.
Meeting of Examination, Authority & Salary Portends Great Nobility
When Hua Ke, Hua Quan, and Hua Lu converge: it portends great nobility. If the Fate or Body Palace holds one of the Transformations: it is greatly auspicious and beneficial, capable of producing great wealth and great nobility, with meritorious fame that resounds far and wide.
Sun Illuminating the Thunder Gate (Ri Zhao Lei Men)
With the Fate Palace in Mao: wealth, nobility, and glory. Specifically for Jia, Yi, Geng, or Xin year births — this is called 'Sun Illuminating the Thunder Gate.' Adding Taiyang as the presiding star, with Youbi, Wenqhang, Wenqu, Tiankui, and Tianyue illuminating from the Three Harmonies in proper configuration: wealth and nobility are considerable.
Moon Bright at the Celestial Gate (Yue Lang Tian Men)
With the Fate Palace in Hai and Taiyin presiding, further seeing the four auspicious stars illuminating from the Three Harmonies: it portends great wealth and nobility. Bing and Ding year births are mainly noble; Ren and Gui year births are mainly wealthy.
Horse Head Bearing a Sword (Ma Tou Dai Jian)
When Qingyang (Ram) guards the Fate Palace in Wu: if not early death, then punishment and injury. Those born in Jia-Xu or Huang-Shen years will certainly face calamitous disaster. The verse says: 'Qingyang residing in Wu guarding the Fate Palace — if not early death, then punishment and injury.'
