大限專論
大限：主十年之榮枯休咎，禍福窮通。大限以陽男陰女順行，陰男陽女逆走，而以所行之宮其星曜廟陷善惡、化吉凶斷。
The Major Limit governs ten years of prosperity or decline, fortune or misfortune, success or adversity. The Major Limit proceeds forward for Yang Males and Yin Females, and backward for Yin Males and Yang Females. Judgment is based on the palace being traversed — its stars' Temple or detriment status, benevolent or malevolent nature, and auspicious or inauspicious transformations.

大限順起計有自「命宮」順走之法。又有不從命宮起大限。陽男陰女順行，陰男陽女逆行。如木三局陰男命起大限，悉自命宮大限，依陽男順行，而陽女逆行，於兄弟宮逆大限即佈為三至十二歲。
The forward-starting Major Limit method begins from the Fate Palace proceeding forward. There is also a method that does not start the Major Limit from the Fate Palace. Yang Males and Yin Females proceed forward; Yin Males and Yang Females proceed backward. For example, a Wood-3 Bureau Yin Male starting the Major Limit: it begins entirely from the Fate Palace, following Yang Male forward progression, while Yang Females reverse. At the Siblings Palace, the reverse Major Limit is laid out as ages 3 to 12.
