病症總論
凡占病症以官爻為病根。火屬心經，發熱咽乾口燥。水歸腎部，惡寒盜汗遺精。金肺木肝，土乃病侵脾胃。鬼伏卦中，病來莫覺。官藏世下，病起如前。
In all illness divination, the Official line is the root of disease. Fire relates to the heart meridian — fever, dry throat, parched mouth. Water relates to the kidney system — chills, night sweats, seminal loss. Metal is the lungs, Wood is the liver, Earth means disease invading the spleen and stomach. If the Ghost hides within the hexagram, the illness arrives imperceptibly. If the Official is concealed beneath the World line, the illness recurs as before.

五行病候
鬼爻屬火，心經乃病，其症必發熱。屬水則惡寒盜汗。屬金則咳嗽。屬木則肝經受病，其症必痿。屬土則脾胃。坤腹乾頭兌口，震足巽股坎耳離目。
Fire Ghost: heart meridian affected, symptoms include fever. Water Ghost: chills and night sweats. Metal Ghost: coughing. Wood Ghost: liver meridian affected, leading to withering or weakness. Earth Ghost: spleen and stomach. As for body regions: Kun = abdomen, Qian = head, Dui = mouth, Zhen = feet, Xun = thighs, Kan = ears, Li = eyes.

安危斷法
先看子孫，最喜生扶旺合。子孫能制鬼，又為福德。占病又為藥。用絕逢生，危而有救。鬼伏空亡合扶助，最吉。月臨福德，勢雖凶卻無虞。
First examine the Offspring line — one most welcomes it being generated, supported, prosperous, and combined. Offspring can subdue the Ghost and also represents blessings. In illness divination, it additionally represents medicine. When the Useful Spirit at the point of extinction meets generation, there is danger but rescue. Ghost hidden in emptiness with combination and support is most auspicious. When the month establishment falls on the Blessing line, though the situation appears dire, there is nothing to fear.
