The Twelve Palaces
Life Palace (Yintang / Glabella)
The Life Palace is located between the two eyebrows, above the Mountain Root (shangren). When bright and clear as a mirror, with the Mountain Root full and smooth, it indicates fortune and longevity. When the Life Palace encounters the Post Horse and Career Star in a relaxed, straight, and supporting configuration with the Wealth Star, then learning and knowledge are all attainable and one's fortune is assured; otherwise, confusion results.
Wealth Palace (Nose)
The nose governs the Wealth Star. If it is hollow, or if the nostrils are upturned and exposed, there is no hidden store of resources. If the Kitchen Stoves (nostril wings) are empty, the household will have nothing accumulated. When the nose as Wealth Star is luminous and the Earth Pavilion (chin) is full and prominent while the Kitchen Stoves on both sides are ample, wealth is secure; but if nostrils are exposed and upturned, the household will have no wealth.
Siblings Palace (Eyebrows)
The Siblings position resides in the two eyebrows, governed by Rahu and Ketu. If eyebrows extend past the eyes, three or four siblings will live without conflict. If eyebrows are short and coarse, although siblings share the same root, they will naturally drift apart as if blocked by fresh kindling. Eagle-like eyebrows indicate two different natures; snake-like eyebrows indicate sibling discord.
Property Palace (Eye-Brow Space / Earth Pavilion)
The Property Palace is discussed in terms of Heaven's Granary and Earth's Treasury, the armor cabinet and golden kitchen. The Kitchen Stoves on both sides indicate one's capacity to accumulate real property.
Children Palace (Under-Eye / Philtrum)
The area must be full, bright, and lustrous for wealth to be abundant. If it suddenly becomes withered and thin, poverty will be the final outcome. When Heaven's Granary and Earth's areas are full, even the worthy who were once poor will prosper; when deficient, later poverty follows.
Spouse Palace (Outer Eye Corners / Fish Tail)
If the Spouse Palace area at the forehead is concave and sunken, one is destined for a cold and meager life. If the eyebrow area is withered, wealth breaks and quickly disappears.
Servants Palace (Sides of Lower Jaw)
The Servants Palace is located on both sides of the Earth Pavilion (lower jaw). It should be full and rounded, not sunken or hollow.
Health Palace (Mountain Root / Mid-Nose Bridge)
The Health Palace is located between the Mountain Root (shangren, bridge between eyes) and the Year Star (mid-nose). It should be high and prominent, without breaks or horizontal lines crossing it.
Travel Palace (Forehead Corners / Temples)
The Travel Palace occupies the forehead corners at the Post Horse position. It should be full, bright, and smooth, without depressions.
Career Palace (Center Forehead)
The Career Palace occupies the center of the forehead at the Central Correct position. It should be high, broad, and luminous, without blemishes or scars.
Fortune Palace (Upper Forehead)
The Fortune Palace occupies the upper forehead at the Heavenly Court position. It should be high, full, and luminously smooth.
Parents Palace (Sun and Moon Horns / Temples)
The Parents Palace occupies the Sun Horn (left temple, governing the father) and Moon Horn (right temple, governing the mother). Both sides should be full, balanced, and without depressions.
