The mouth is the gate of speech and the vessel for food and drink. A mouth large enough to contain a fist indicates wealth and nobility. Red lips with white teeth indicate fortune and salary. Opening large but closing small indicates self-control. Upper and lower lips covering each other indicate balance. A mouth small as if pinched indicates poverty. Thin lips exposing teeth indicate a calculating nature and poverty. Downturned mouth corners indicate misfortune.
