編纂緣起
神煞之所由起義例情形然各為一篇，不能一覽而盡其條理。且年神方位通書時憲書取用各有不同，而月家吉凶神又合建除滿辰諸家以輕重為次第，則義例猶未盡。今將時憲書及月表所用吉凶神另編立成。
The origins and principles of each spirit-sha are each written as separate essays, making it impossible to grasp the entire system at a glance. Moreover, the year spirits and directional assignments differ between the general Almanac and the Imperial Calendar, while monthly auspicious and inauspicious spirits also combine the Jianchu, Full, and Chen schools ranked by relative weight -- so the principles are not yet exhausted. We now compile the spirits used in the Imperial Calendar and monthly tables into a separate set of lookup tables.
Organizational Principle
編排原則
列成表各分起例，以類相從，庶其例益明而其義亦從可知也。作立成。
The tables are organized by derivation method, grouped by type, so that the rules become clearer and the principles can be understood accordingly. Thus we create the Compiled Tables.
